Dried ginger

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is a flowering plant in the family Zingiberaceae whose rhizome, ginger root or simply ginger, is widely used as a spice. Fresh raw ginger contains the spicy substance called “gingerol”. We came to understand that dried ginger has several times more gingerol than fresh ginger. Gingerol helps increase immune cells in the blood vessels to protect the body from bacteria and other toxic elements. Gingerol is also known to protect your body from contracting bacterial bronchitis. Dry ginger comes from fresh ginger that is dried before being used. It is a fine off-white powder that has a strong aroma and pungent flavour. This is mostly easy to store and has a long shelf life of a year.

Dried ginger powder is used in spices and masalas for gravies, curries, marinades, stews etc. Dried ginger powder is also used for food preparations for expecting women and feeding mothers. Dried ginger powder is used for adding flavor to a variety of baked dishes like ginger cookies and ginger candies. Dry ginger powder together with sugar cane juice is used to cure stomach irritation. Consume this mixture everyday early in the morning to get relief from stomach irritation.
