Patchouli Leaves

Patchouli leaves (Pogostemon cablin) has been known as a plant that is best grown in land with slightly moist and very rich soils. That said, tropical areas such as Indonesia is best to farm Patchouli. Although, it will not work to grow it directly under the sunlight. Patchouli has glossy, olive-green egg-shaped leaves with toothed edges. It comes from the same family as mint. There are various kinds of Patchouli. Pogostemon cablin is well-known as ‘true’ patchouli.It has various usages such as insect-repeller and perfume. It is also widely used as one ingredient of incense. Some people even add patchouli into herbal tea or into food  as a seasoning.
